sodbrand – Zeitschrift mit alles und viel scharf!

sodbrand was Switzerland's card magazine, a postcard publication consisting of 30 individual cards printed on both sides and bound into a booklet. Each issue was published on a specific theme. One photographer designed all the cards in each issue. The text editors compiled contributions for the backs of the cards that illuminated the theme from very different angles. Every two months a new, surprising combination of pictures and texts appeared.

The texts did not explain the pictures, nor did the pictures illustrate the texts. Image and text existed independently of each other. Nevertheless, they formed an inseparable unit in sodbrand. Hardly any other magazine gave the same importance to images and text as sodbrand. With its special format (10.5 x 21 cm), sodbrand encouraged collecting. The magazine was readable both as a whole and in its individual parts - the individual cards. The magazine was available free of charge in selected pubs and could also be bought or ordered in bookshops. The readership consisted of urban, sophisticated people between the ages of 25 and 40.

Benjamin Füglister launched the magazine in 2003 together with Claudio Miozzari. Three issues were published.
